Swimming, especially Butterfly Stroke (BS) can be a great exercise added to your body building programs. You can keep building up muscle while you are relax in the swimming pool, resting your body from weight and gravity.
BS movement is contrary to your basic exercise that train your muscle part by part (localized and targeted). BS has dynamic balistical movements that generated from synchronized big muscles of your whole body (upper, core, and legs). So it helps you to get the curve or the outline of your body more solid and much bigger.
Moreover, you've had it all: god-like body, bulky muscle and six pack abs, so why you still swim the generic stroke like frontcrawl and breast stroke. Trainings in gym just focus on strength and strength, but trainings BS in pool focus on an art and synchroneous dynamic power.
But be careful, BS when not done properly can be hazardous to your body like shouder joints, back-pains, arms injury, neck pain, etc.
